The abbey cherry in Offenbach-Hundheim is always an eye-catcher when you drive through the town. With a bit of luck, the church is open and you can also visit it.

The Bud is still a great place to rest, great service, the option to charge your e-bike and really reasonable prices. Delicious homemade cakes that are sometimes sold out in the afternoon, but that shouldn't be surprising given the prices.

5월 9, 2024, View of the Glan Valley from Medarder Höhe
Large area that looks a bit unloved and was probably used to assemble the wind turbines. From the bench you have a beautiful view of the Glan valley. When I visited, the wind turbine was still!

The small neo-Gothic field chapel called St. Josefs-Kapelle was built in 1901/02 in the Watzkessel, at the confluence of Überlauterecker Straße and Talstraße, which runs to the right of the Glan. It was planned and executed by the Lautereck master mason Joseph Walter, whose company was also known for some church buildings. The chapel, built of sandstone blocks, stands on a low base. Three steps lead up to the door. The steep roof is covered with slate, the gable points to the junction with Überlauterecker Straße. Today's Glan Bridge is a prestressed concrete bridge from 1997. It already had two stone and certainly several wooden predecessors. The Glan - the longest river in the Palatinate - has its source on the Höcherberg near Bexbach and crosses the border from Saarland to Rhineland-Palatinate after about 2 km. On its almost 90 km long path to the confluence with the Nahe, it also flows through the town of Lauterecken. Here it picks up the Lauter, also known as the Waldlauter, coming from the right. The name of the settlement, which was founded as a village around 1000 AD, came from the Landecke or confluence, called “Lautereck”. In a document from 1343, the name "Lutereck" is given for the settlement and the deep castle of the Counts of Veldenz. The triangle in the former and present coat of arms of the city is also modeled on the estuary triangle. Today's Nepomuk statue is a reproduction from 1997, the original is in the Veldenz Castle. 7월 8, 2023, Lauterecken-Grumbach Station
The station was put into operation on May 1, 1904 as a dividing station for the Homburg–Bad Münster Glantalbahn, which opened in full that year, and the Lautertalbahn, which has been in operation since 1883 and begins in Kaiserslautern. The former was gradually shut down in the Lauterecken catchment area from the mid-1980s; since then it has only been the terminus of the Lautertalbahn. Source: Wikipedia In the former station building there is a restaurant where you can eat delicious.
