A very beautiful, quiet spot in the middle of the forest. This spot can be found along the Musikantenweg (musician's path) between Schwedelbach and Reichenbach-Steegen. You can drive or hike to this intersection toward Erzenhausen, Pörrbach, or Reichenbach, or take the Höhenweg (high trail) to Kottweiler-Schwanden.

A great day-trip restaurant with delicious food and drinks. Beautiful views over the fields (in the Weilerbach/Mackenbach area). Easily accessible via the bike path between Weilerbach and Schwedelbach.

The sand pit on Heidenberg (alternative name: Kessel von Schwedelbach) is a natural monument in Schwedelbach, a local community in the Kaiserslautern district in Rhineland-Palatinate. The wetland biotope with the natural monument number ND-7335-274 is located in an abandoned molding sand pit on Heidenberg south of Schwedelbach at the end of Mackenbacher Straße. The sand pit is characterized by heavy bush growth and is surrounded by steep sand walls. The biotope complex - a kettle-like excavation - contains a small, species-rich body of water measuring around 10 ares and a fragmentary dwarf shrub heath threatened by strong tree succession. The sand extracted here was delivered to the local foundries and to a brick factory and used to fill a moor near Ramstein. Sand mining was stopped in the early 1970s. The old sand pit was placed under protection in the late 1970s after a population of the rare spadefoot toad was discovered there. Since then, other endangered amphibian species such as the great crested newt and the common midwife toad as well as numerous dragonfly species have been sighted. There is a small viewing platform and an information board at the natural monument.

The Schwedelbach basin is a natural monument in Schwedelbach, located in the south of the village on Mackenbacher Straße out of the village towards Mackenbach. It is an old abandoned sand pit, the official name of the natural monument is also "Sandgrube am Heidenberg". It is an extensive natural monument, a wet biotope in a former sand pit. The edges of the sand pits form high, steep walls that are very beautiful to look at. However, entering is actually forbidden and actually very dangerous as it goes down very steeply. At the top of the street there is an information board and a nice view. A real feast for the eyes for nature and local lovers.

Like every year, storks mate again and again and pull their offspring up the cycle path between Erzenhausen towards Schwedelbach. Always nice to watch. We also document everything about the storks that nest there.

The original dimensions of the sand hill, which was around four meters high and around 30 meters in diameter, are now illustrated using a steel reconstruction of the chariot grave. The idea for the reconstruction and the designs came from Weilerbach local historian Kurt Schäfer. It is an open steel structure whose silhouette captures the radius of the original wagon grave. A three-meter-high steel cable is stretched from the outer edge of the structure to the center of the circle. The interior of the burial chamber is shown in a stylized manner and is illustrated using binoculars, which show a three-dimensional representation of the burial chamber. There is also a warrior figure and a stele set up.
