The footbridge, with its brick arches, leads across the Neckar River towards Plochingen and the former factory buildings of the Otto textile company.

Worth seeing and actually reminds (a little) of Venice. The construction of the three-arched stone "Royal Bridge" or "Rialto Bridge" began in October 1825 and lasted exactly one year. Most of the stones were taken from Hörnleskopf near Korb, some from Baach near Schnait and in Fellbach. In October 1979 the bridge was entered into the monument register. The "Rialto" bridge at the entrance to Beinstein is a three-arch stone bridge which was built about 100 years ago.

Unfortunately, the car bridge was built right next to the Rialto Bridge. That's why the Rialto (actually the King's Bridge) is always somewhat in the shadow of its ugly sister. Still, she's a real beauty.

Rialto Bridge This historic stone arch bridge in Waiblingen-Beinstein dates from 1825/26 and spans the Rems. At 40 meters, it is similar in length to its original, the world-famous Rialto Bridge in Venice (48 meters). Other similarities: the typical kink in the middle and the round arch. Speaking of semicircular arches: while the original in Venice only has one, this Rialto Bridge in Waiblingen-Beinstein has three semicircular arches! Absolutely worth seeing!

Very fun sculptures, well worth a visit

"Otto-Steg", the pedestrian bridge over the Neckar. When exposed to sunlight, it looks very bright and colorful due to the orange color of the arches. 👍

From Plochingen you can take the footbridge to the Bruckenwasen landscape park, a beautiful park to linger in, and the footbridge overlooks the Neckar
