The Kissinger Hütte is a refuge belonging to the Rhön Club in the Rhön. It is located at an altitude of 844 meters on the southern slope of the Heidelstein, one of the highest mountains in the Rhön. The hut was built in 1928 and is named after the spa town of Bad Kissingen, which is about 20 kilometers away. The hut offers overnight accommodation for hikers and skiers, as well as catering with regional specialties. From the hut you have a beautiful view over the Rhön and, if the visibility is good, as far as the Thuringian Forest and the Spessart.

The Würzburger Haus is an ideal destination or can be used as an intermediate destination on hiking tours (e.g. hut tour 15 km or Kuppenweg 10 km). A beautiful dining room and a wonderful outdoor area are ideal for sampling the hut's dishes and drinks. A hiking car park is located about 1 km away and also offers good access to the Würzburger Haus for walkers.

Starting at the Napoleonsturm in Schluechtern, the Drei-Castle-Weg leads past Brandenstein Castle in Schluechtern-Elm. From there it goes via Hinkelhof below the castle Steckelberg on the saddle between Steckelberg and Altenburg. There the Drei-Castle-Weg crosses the Ulrich-von-Hutten-Path. From there, the Drei-Castle-Weg leads via Schwarzenfels Castle to Bad Brückenau. The Three Castles Trail is part of the Rhönklub trail network. It is marked with a yellow drop.
