From the dam you have a beautiful view over the lake to Niederweidbach on one side and a beautiful view of the valley on the other side.

On the circuit around the Aartalsee you can always enjoy beautiful views. However, you should avoid weekends and public holidays.

The dam wall and the Aartalsee really have a very special position in the local LDK region. In fact, after the Edersee, the Aartalsee is one of the largest bodies of water in Hesse and a great local recreation area, not just for athletes.

Yes, the dam is visible. Good waypoint to plan the circular route. Otherwise a rather questionable "highlight".
