Interesting exhibitions and beautiful grounds around the old cloth factory.

When the weather is clear, the view extends as far as the Siebengebirge.

The castle was first mentioned in 1249 when it was destroyed. An Adolf von Ringsheim appears in 1278. His descendants had to sell the headquarters to Johann Hurth von Schoeneck, the Hereditary Marshal of Jülich, in 1455 due to excessive indebtedness. With the death of the last Hurth von Schöneck, the archbishop withdrew the fiefdom of Ringsheim Castle and only gave it back to Johann Freiherr von Beck in 1635, whose son sold the property to the Electorate of Cologne Chamberlain Philipp von der Vorst in 1656.

The so-called Upper Castle is a former moated castle. A corner tower on the site of the industrial museum in Kuchenheim is still well preserved.

In good weather a worthwhile view and it is a nice place for a break.
