Very sturdy new wooden seating area with a table at the Hochkreuz in Andernach. Nothing wobbles. Everything around it is beautifully laid out, too. Kudos to the planners and builders.

The lake "Maria Laach" is a volcanic crater. It is not an extinct volcano, it is still active. You can still see it clearly in some areas of the shore, where gas bubbles rise from the so-called "mofettes".

Unfortunately the trail was closed because it was illegal... Those responsible at the forestry department told me that they would hold those who drive this regularly responsible. Ciao.
