In the very east of the Ruhr area lies the Seepark Lünen and the traces of mining are still visible today: in the middle of the Seepark Lünen there is the Horstmarer Loch, a depression that is twelve meters below the usual terrain level at its deepest point. Today there is a kind of natural amphitheater with grass steps, where theatrical and musical events are regularly held. Interesting is the view of the higher channel and the ships passing overhead. The counterpart to the Horstmarer Loch, on the other hand, is the former heap of the Preußen colliery. From here there is a beautiful view of the Seepark and the nearby Datteln-Hamm Canal.

is a port built in 1924/1925 and commissioned in autumn 1925 on the Datteln-Hamm Canal (canal km 14.16 - 14.34) in Lünen-Süd. Originally it served as a transshipment point for the Prussian collieries in Horstmar and the Gneisenau colliery in Dortmund-Derne.

When the canal bridge was built on the abutments on the north and south banks of the Datteln-Hamm canal, not only was the bridge in Lippepark completed, but also the "reunification" of Herringen and Bockum-Hövel.
