The Laufenburg was built in the 12th century by the Dukes of Limburg. Since the 17th century it has only existed as a ruin. In 1895 the battlements of the round corner towers were renewed. The current restaurant is closed on Mondays.

The bike path along the Wurm is also quite okay.

One of my favorite routes in the region. The route can be incorporated wonderfully into a circuit, because there are also roads and paths that are easy to drive on to the right and left of the Wurm.

Not only north but also south of Geilenkirchen on the route to Übach-Palenberg, a small piece of the worm, which is otherwise pressed into a canal, has been restored to its natural state and is a paradise for flora and fauna.

Very nice moated castle, which is now a retirement home. Many birds live in the moat and ponds.
