The waterfall along the Levada do Norte cascades in several stages over dark rock faces, bathing the surrounding vegetation in a fine mist. Among ferns, mosses, and laurel trees, you'll find a pleasantly cool spot for a short break. The sound of the rushing water accompanies you a little further along the levada path, making this section particularly atmospheric.

Unfortunately, the Nevada is only nice for people who are sure-footed and have absolutely no fear of heights, as there are passages without any safety equipment.

The slightly more natural levada compared to the upper Levada Nova. I personally liked it better because here you walk directly through the laurel forests.

Great opportunity to combine the Levada Nova with this Levada Moinho to create a circular walk. First the Levada Nova and then the more natural Levada Moinho back.

At the end of the tunnel you can see (and especially hear) the waterfall. You can walk under the waterfall without getting too wet.

The tunnel is not that long, but it is definitely worth bringing a headlamp. After that you will find yourself right in front of the waterfall.
