    The Levada do Moinho can be easily combined with the Levada Nova to form a circular route (way there on the Levada Nova, way back on the Levada do Moinho).
    The tour is not particularly strenuous, but surefootedness and a head for heights should be provided.

            The levada leads into the valley, through smaller terraced fields where bananas, sweet potatoes and beans are grown. Some fields are no longer cultivated and are already disappearing under weeds. Lots of agapanthus and calla grow along the way. Sometimes a goat that was tied here to graze greets us.

            The levada winds further and further into the Ribeira da Ponta do Sol valley, sometimes the higher Levada Nova can be seen.

                  Much rockier than the Levada Nova above. It is more secured by steel cable railings, but you still have to watch your step.
                  It had rained heavily the night before and there were a lot of puddles. So waterproof shoes are a must here.
