The Emsauen in Telgte offer a nice opportunity for walkers to stroll away from the city center in the middle of nature.

Beautiful hiking trails along the Ems and through the old town.

The expanded Ems is a river with obstacles for migrating fish and other aquatic organisms. Drops in the river bed and dams such as the historic dams in Telgte impair the river's continuity and segment the water. In Telgte, the "Dümmert" branches off from the main Ems as a tributary. Both stretches of water are interrupted by the dams of former mills and, with a height difference of around 2.5 meters, represent an insurmountable obstacle to the migration of fish striving upstream. To change this, a fish ladder, or "fish ladder" for short, was built for the first time in 2000 at the Kleiner-Ems-Weir in Telgte. In the area of the "Dümmertinsel", which is surrounded by the two arms of the Ems and is now used as a city park, a 140-meter-long, near-natural bypass channel was created. Warendorf has a beautiful old town with a large market square.

In a beautiful little town, a little away from the busy market, is the restaurant "Aunt Lina" where you can enjoy a delicious lunch at reasonable prices.

Great excursion location ... easily accessible with the 🚴‍♀️

Telgte is a famous place of pilgrimage, it is always worth visiting. The Emsauen are beautiful for cyclists. The exhibition Everyday People by Ms. Lechner is currently in Telgte.

Telgte is a nice little place ....... next door to Münster. A bit quieter :) but no less attractive ...some places to eat don't have hot meals all the time. They always have beer :)
