The Ponte dos Arcos is a 19th-century historic structure in Valongo, Portugal. Built to irrigate the fertile lands of Campo, it also served as a pedestrian crossing. Recently restored, it is now an icon of local heritage.

The Ferreira River is a tributary of the Tâmega River in northern Portugal. Its course runs through valleys and rural landscapes, also powering some small hydroelectric power plants. Here you can cycle in complete tranquility immersed in nature.

Very tastefully designed, not overdone

The uphill walk is quite strenuous. Hiking boots are recommended. You'll be rewarded with a great view of the entire city. Restaurants are available.

Known as the lungs of Vizela, the Parque das Termas is an open invitation to practice outdoor sports. Its main attraction? An impressive concentration of monumental trees, unique in the country, which transform this space into a green haven like no other in Portugal.

The plans for the building were drawn up by the Portuguese architect José Marques da Silva. Work began on August 6, 1930. Marques da Silva broke with traditional forms of church construction in Portugal and heavily influenced the Art Deco style of the 1930s. Locally sourced granite was used almost exclusively in the construction. During construction, a fire broke out on February 4, 1939, which destroyed an image of the Immaculate Conception and a carving crowning the main altar. This delayed the completion of the church. The church was consecrated on September 14, 1947, without the architect present, who had died three months earlier.
