The term Werserkuss is misleading. The correct name is: WeErre Weser Kuss. Geographically understandable. Where Werre and Weser kiss (in this case NOTHING is created) :-)

Beautiful section of the Weser cycle path.

A tour along the Weser reflects the diverse landscape of Lower Saxony. First it flows through the mountainous south, in places forcing itself between the towering rocks. There on the Oberweser, as the section up to Minden is called, the tourist importance of the river predominates today. Barges are rare. In summer, passenger ships shuttle between the tranquil towns, canoeists and rowers glide down the Weser - supported by the current. Small ferries serve to supplement the few bridges in this section. Cyclists can also use them to move from bank to bank on the popular Weser cycle path. The "Werreradweg" leads from Bad Oeynhausen in the direction of the Weser. A very nice path leads through forest and fields without any traffic disturbance.

In autumn you can marvel at the faded heather, the colorful and contrasting moor landscape with its many characteristic mini lakes, the so-called moor biotopes, in which the plants and tree stumps are reflected and, of course, photographed...

Here I prefer to drive at off-peak times (very early or very late) and during the week when it's not so crowded here. It is precisely the great routing directly on the Weser that makes this route so attractive. To date, this has been countered by the fact that the section between the "Altes Fährhaus" and the railway bridge is very narrow and bumpy. It is planned that this section will be expanded and modernized in line with requirements in the foreseeable future. Hopefully soon!
