The small, red-haired goblin Pumuckl, a character by the author Ellis Kaut, is a kobold and invisible to everyone except for the master carpenter Eder (Gustl Bayrhammer), because Pumuckl once got stuck to a pot of glue in his workshop. The Pumuckl fountain in Munich is dedicated to the fairytale character of the same name by Ellis Kaut. It was created in 1985 by the Starnberg sculptor Claus Nageler and the donor is Ellis Kaut. It is located in the western Luitpoldpark on the edge of a children's playground where Burgunderstrasse meets Brunnerstrasse. The fountain consists of a tall stone stele in the shape of a tree stump. It ends with a bronze figure showing the dancing goblin. After irregular time intervals, the little Pumuckl spits out a three to four meter long jet of water.
