Always worth a visit, managed by the nature lovers, if the hut is occupied there is a great snack or meal, with advance notice also overnight accommodation possible

Closed in winter, but the open winter room protects against wind and weather. A bed with a blanket is provided, as is a heater, although I believe you have to pay 1 euro for that. It's the same in other winter rooms, at least the ones I know of.

Unfortunately closed in winter - but fantastic views of the surrounding natural beauty.

The Kreuzschober seems to be a popular destination for tourers. Since I can't ski, I went up there with snowshoes - that's fine too :) Also very easily accessible to the public from Mürzzuschlag.

Great view over the plain to the Rax. And to the many peaks in the opposite direction.
