The Wetterkoglerhaus is located on the border between Lower Austria and Styria at an altitude of 1,743 meters. The Wetterkoglerhaus is a popular destination for hikers because from there you have a wonderful view of Lower Austria, Styria, Burgenland, Lake Balaton and Slovenia. The Wetterkoglerhaus also offers a rich menu.

The Hochwechseltrail Nord is 3.4 km long and 180 meters deep down to the border triangle. The route is part of the "Wexl Trails" and therefore you need a ticket for it, which you can buy at the Wetterkoglerhaus, for example. If you come up from the Marienseer Schwaig, you ride the last part of the route on this Uphil trail to the Wetterkogelhaus and the summit.
