Kirke Skoven Church in Jægerspris was first built in 1897 by architect Martin Borch. After a fire in 1982, it was faithfully restored to its original style, incorporating Art Nouveau, Gothic, Romanesque, and Baroque elements. The interior features artwork by Joakim Skovgård and decorations by local craftsmen added after the reconstruction. As a so-called "street church," it is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the summer, and only by appointment with the sexton in the winter. One of many highlights of Jægerspris alongside the castle. Dismount and wander around the red brick buildings and enjoy the quiet atmosphere. Danner Cafe or the excellent ice cream shop nearby offer a welcome reward.

Super delicious ice cream, especially soft serve. Definitely try it in a homemade cone. Directly across from the eastern end of the castle park.
