이 지역의 상류는 실제로 여전히 흐르는 구간으로 불릴 수 있으며, 점차 저수지의 뿌리가 잔잔하게 흐르는 구간으로 바뀝니다. 저수지의 하류에서는 강이 높은 제방으로 둘러싸여 있으며, 이곳의 폭은 500미터가 넘고 유속은 매우 느립니다. 갈대밭이 있는 얕은 물 지역은 물고기에게 이상적인 산란 장소를 제공합니다. Wellersdorf 만은 보호 구역이므로 6월 16일부터 낚시가 가능합니다. 흰 물고기가 우세하며, 잉어와 린 물고기가 많이 잡힙니다. 연어류는 상류에서 간혹 잡힙니다. 포식자 중에는 수마트라와 강꼬치고기, 메기가 있습니다. 이곳에 없는 토종 어종은 거의 없으며, 항상 놀라움을 기대할 수 있습니다.

The power plant dams the Drava for ten kilometers up to the upstream Feistritz/Ludmannsdorf power plant, thus forming the Ferlach reservoir.

Very narrow, drive carefully

The Ferlach reservoir is the backwater of the Drau by the Ferlach-Maria Rain run-of-river power plant. It extends above the Feistritz-Ludmannsdorf power plant with the Feistritz reservoir. While the Ferlach reservoir is bordered on the north side by the slopes of the Sattnitz, on the south side it is partly higher than the immediate surroundings and is bordered there by a dyke. The waters that the dyke cuts off from the Drau are collected by the Little Drau, which runs along the foot of the dyke on the south side and flows into the Drau below the power plant.

The construction of a fish pass is currently being planned

The Ferlach-Maria Rain power plant was built between 1971 and 1975 as the third power plant on the Middle Drau (after Feistritz-Ludmannsdorf and Rosegg-St. Jakob) with financial participation from KELAG. Two Kaplan turbines generate 315 GWh of electricity annually from 100% hydropower.

Electricity is produced in Ressnig from the hydropower of the Drau.

Sensible and environmentally conscious generation of energy. That's the way it has to be.
