The Traisen Valley Cycle Path runs from the Danube near Traismauer to Mariazell. The section between Traismauer and St. Pölten is just over 20 kilometers long and is considered a particularly family-friendly route, as it is largely flat and well-maintained. The route mostly runs directly along the Traisen River and through tranquil, scenic floodplain landscapes. Especially in the lower reaches, there are many renaturalized riverbanks that provide habitats for rare bird species, fish, and beavers. The route is also suitable for beginners and families.

The new lookout is a great vantage point over the Wachau! Numerous hiking trails pass by here, such as the World Heritage Trail and the Dunkelsteinerwald circular hiking trail.

Ascent only for experienced climbers! Or rather, the descent. Getting up the via ferrata, secured with ladders and ropes, is manageable, but going down can be a bit tricky if you're not very experienced with climbing. The view, however, is breathtaking!

Pray, read, and work / Göttweig Abbey at 422 m above sea level A spiritual center in the heart of Lower Austria since 1083 The Benedictine Abbey of Göttweig, perched at 422 m above sea level on the eastern edge of the world-famous Wachau Valley on the Danube, is impossible to miss. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000, it is not only a magnet for visitors from all over the world, but also a spiritual center in the heart of Lower Austria, sustained by a community of 34 monks. The monastery—also known as the "Austrian Monte Cassino" due to its magnificent mountain location—was founded in 1083 as a monastery for a community of canons living according to the Rule of St. Augustine. In 1094, Göttweig was given to the Benedictines. Today, only remnants of Göttweig's medieval buildings remain (the Erentrudis Chapel from 1072, the Old Castle, the crypt, and the choir of the church), as a devastating fire in 1718 necessitated the construction of a new Baroque abbey. The imperial court architect Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt provided the plans for the magnificent monastery complex, which was begun in 1720 under Abbot Gottfried Bessel and was two-thirds completed.
