The Danube Loop (formerly also known as the Böse Beuge) is located between Ybbs an der Donau and Gottsdorf in Lower Austria. The loop lies at the beginning of the Nibelungengau region. Plankenstein Castle was lovingly restored over decades of work by Peter Trimbacher since 1975 and by its new owner Erich Podstatny since 2010.
