The circular route can be done by tram or by bike. Now in October, large parts of the road were flooded, making it difficult to cycle. You should also not underestimate the heat and sun's rays. It was a fantastic experience on the tram. There were lots of alligators to see, as well as various herons. We stopped at every animal sighting and had enough time to take photos. The explanations from the guide who accompanied us were also very interesting. Tours are offered four times a day.

The Venice Train Depot is a historic train station that is found at the southern end of the Legacy Trail. It was constructed in 1927 and the last passenger train passed through in 1971. In 1989, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Now, the building is open for tours and has several scenic walkways and picnic tables.

This park features an indoor recreation center, a playground, a basketball court, shuffleboard courts, an open field, three pickleball courts, a tennis court, picnic tables, and restrooms. A nice path takes you around the area, offering beautiful views of Sarasota Bay.

With multiple beaches, picnic areas, a public pier, museum, hiking trails, biking paths, and even more amenities, Fort De Soto is a popular military park for a reason. This is the main parking and visitor area on the island. If you have time, it's worth heading over towards the beach and checking out the pier.
