Beautiful, varied route. Fitzen and Bergholz are pretty little villages and the path through the forest is easy to ride.

The bridge is only accessible to cars in one lane with traffic lights. For cyclists, however, a good, wide cycle path with beautiful views of the canal leads over the bridge.

very suitable for hikes with dogs. Danger! In Schleswig Holstein, dogs must always be kept on a leash in forests! The regulation also states that hunters are allowed to shoot free-ranging dogs chasing game! As is currently the case in all forests: plenty of ticks and deer louse flies

Unfortunately no "open church" - in view of the historical importance and equipment that would actually make sense!

An extraordinary landscape, unfortunately you can't see very much of the botanical peculiarities from the path, here you could - as in many other nature reserves - imagine a small "teaching trail" or something similar

Here is the parking lot at the canal. Great to start from here if you are driving to the starting point by car
