The path is hard to find, everything is overgrown and unkempt

The short detour up from the Schauerwaldstraße is truly worth it. From the vast clearing of the Hochalm, the view opens up over the valley surrounding Oberwang and the hills toward Attersee and the Höllengebirge mountains. Opposite, to the southeast, the Schafberg mountain overlooks the forested mountains between Mondsee and Attersee. On the Kulmspitze, to the left of the Schafberg, is the magnificent observation tower.

Unfortunately, the grass was head-high today, making the path heavily overgrown. Still, it's a worthwhile hike. True, the view isn't particularly good...but a small platform to climb onto at the summit would be enormously worthwhile, with the view of Lake Attersee, Schafberg, and Dachstein.

The Drachenwand (Dragon Wall) rises prominently and is visible from afar as a striking rocky ridge in the Salzkammergut region. It is particularly famous for the Drachenloch (Dragon's Hole), a naturally formed rock window just below the summit, which lends the place its special charm. The name originates from old legends: according to one tale, the devil abducted a cook through the hole. These stories continue to shape the mystical atmosphere of this scenically and geologically impressive natural monument.
