The Town Hall Fountain in Hof is a striking landmark in the heart of Hof's Neustadt district, combining art, local history, and urban life in a compact space. It stands on the north side of the Town Hall, directly on Klosterstraße, just steps from Ludwigstraße and opposite St. Michael's Church. Its central location makes the fountain easy to find, whether on foot through the city center, by bus to the Rathaus (Town Hall) stop on Ludwigstraße, or by car in the adjacent underground parking garage "Am Rathaus" on Karolinenstraße. The Town Hall Fountain was created in 1979 by the sculptor Margarete Wiggen as a bronze sculpture ensemble. Over the years, it has become a popular meeting place for locals and visitors alike and also serves as the starting point for various themed city tours. During the founding of Hof's new town, a chapel dedicated to St. Michael was built in the 13th century, just off the main market street (Ludwigstraße). It was expanded into a stately Gothic hall church in several construction phases until the 16th century. The neo-Gothic interior, created after the town fire of 1823, is worth seeing, with its carved high altar and stained-glass choir windows.

The Town Hall Fountain, created in 1979 by the Köditz sculptor Margarete K. Wiggen, gives Hof its character. The figures of children, students studying and playing music, the young couple, and the old man with a cane and cigar symbolize the vitality of people in various phases of life. The ball player testifies to athletic activity. Several guilds – bakers, tailors, chimney sweeps, and brewers – are also represented. The market woman, with her apple baskets, recalls the old tradition of Hof's various markets. A young woman at a spinning wheel, the man with the rolled-up bale of cloth, and the girl with the spindle not only commemorate the fountain's founders, but also the fact that a large portion of this town's citizens lived and still live directly or indirectly from the textile industry. The light and serious muses, represented by the dancer with the two masks, the cellist, and the guitarist, point to Hof's vibrant cultural life. Since Hof is also an administrative center, the representative of this large professional branch with the inevitable files should not be missing.
