The church of St. Sylvester in Unterfarnstädt is eye-catching with its tower and roof. The church, built in the middle of the 19th century between 1840 and 1844 in the Tudor style of English cathedral Gothic, is almost unique in Saxony-Anhalt, if not in Germany. Near the A38 motorway, the St. Pankratius motorway church in Rothenschirmbach is one of four motorway churches in Saxony-Anhalt. Not just for drivers, it is a resting place for the soul - as motorway churches are often called. A dedicated support group of volunteers ensures that the church is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., there is a toilet, fresh water and an opportunity to rest. You have the opportunity to light a candle, leave your worries or wishes in a box with prayer requests and, of course, to immortalize yourself in the guest book.
