In the north, the massif extends far into Austrian territory up to the Jaunfeld, where it reaches almost 1750 m. The highest peak is the Kordeschkopf (Slovenian: Kordeževa glava), which is right on the border and is 2126 m above sea level. A., whose normal route from the southern Slovenian side reaches the summit in an easy hike. This normal route is also accessible from Austria via the Kniepssattel.

Just because the Völkermarkt reservoir is half of the 7 ½ southern Carinthian lakes, you should still take it seriously. Strictly speaking, it is a river – the Drava. As such, it has very good water quality and a high diversity of species and is considered a real active jack-of-all-trades by ornithologists, fishermen, walkers, hikers, rowers, canoeists and cyclists alike.

Deer to touch, through the enclosure. There is also a feeder, 50 cents, and you get food for them. Brave ones 😉 can let the deer 🦌 eat from your hand. The enclosure is very large, there is even a forest. Whether they fall victim to the restaurant is beyond my knowledge

From here you can also wonderfully hike towards Hochosterwitz Castle.

Great views and good food at the summit house. Unfortunately, the service is overwhelmed. One waiter bosses the staff around in front of the guests and is also terribly rude to the guests. I've rarely experienced such poor service.

The Kitzelberg rises on the west bank of the Klopeinersee at approx. 650m. On the road from Klopein to Littermoos, right after the Kleinsee, you can park your vehicle at the junction to Steinerberg (signpost to the Grinzing Heurigen) next to the road. From there, a gravel road goes up the mountain on the left.
