The climb to Van d'en-Haut is quite difficult with about 5 km of climbing after Salvan, although you have to climb up here from the valley beforehand. The average slope of this last section is approximately 9 to 10%. The road is a dead end, so there isn't too much traffic.

The lake is quite accessible, with a solid road connecting it to the town of Martigny, making it a popular destination during the summer months. This route is a great climb and an even better descent, allowing a diverse range of cyclists to access this stunning location.

An artificial, but beautiful, lake perched in the mountains above the Marécottes ski resort. The lake is a popular place due to its ease of access and the large number of hiking, running and mountain biking trails that start from this location. The lake is located below the large, rocky and imposing Dents du Midi. It is equipped with a small refreshment bar, offering an opportunity to refuel before or after a long run in these magnificent mountains.

A beautiful, high alpine pass, with a steep trail leading up to it. The pass offers some of the best views of the majestic Salanfe Lake, as well as the Salanfe Pass.

La Haute Cime is a peak within the Dents du Midi, a collection of magnificent rocky mountains close to the Swiss/French border. The Haute Cime is the only one of these peaks generally reached by hiking, rather than climbing, and is usually climbed without additional precautions such as ropes, harnesses and protection. As a result, this makes this summit a great, involving outing, offering not only fantastic views of Mont Blanc and miles of endless mountains, but also some technical difficulty in the ascent, as well as accomplishing a real summit. Although this mountain is intended for hiking, it is still a real mountain. Take appropriate precautions when navigating this terrain, make sure you are confident in your abilities, and hire a guide if you are not completely sure.
