This bridge is also an impressive structure and can be admired from all directions

Just ten minutes' walk from the village center of Bettmeralp, the barrier-free Bettmersee is a special idyll in the Aletsch Arena holiday destination. The Bietschtal Bridge 🌉 is an impressive engineering structure along the Lötschberg south ramp. It spans the Bietschtal at a height of 78 meters and offers spectacular views of the valley and the surrounding Alps 🏔️. The path to the bridge usually starts from Ausserberg train station 🚉 and leads through picturesque landscapes and historic Suonen (irrigation channels) 🌿. The hike is about 2 hours long and of moderate difficulty.

The mountain above is reflected so beautifully in the early morning, but the lake also shines beautifully red in the evening when the sun sets. Swimming is probably not forbidden - but you shouldn't expect Mediterranean temperatures at 2000m altitude

An impressive structure high above the Bietschtal

Originally, the path led over the glacier. However, as the moraine slopes have become unstable due to rising temperatures, this 124 meter long suspension bridge now spans the gorge.

Beautiful mountain lake and a great place for a break, here you can also rent a pedal boat, a SUP board, or go swimming. You can also just enjoy the view and the lake in the "Bootshüsi" with a snack.
