The station building in Erzhausen was built in 1903 as part of the development of rail transport. It originally served as a classic station with a waiting area, ticket office and freight transport facilities to support the growing mobility and trade in the region. The architecture reflects the typical country house style of smaller stations of that time. The playful roof shape with the tower-like projection is often found in the Darmstadt area. In 2003, the station was spun off from the railway's ownership. The station's reception building, which is now a listed building, has since been the "Erzhausen Book Station".
