Highest wooden church in Europe

A mountain inn with nostalgic charm. The food is good and plentiful, the rooms are homely but without a bathroom, the hosts are committed and friendly. The inn is the terminus of the post bus line through the Safiental.

The view from the Glaser Grat into the mountains and the two valleys, on the left into the Safiental and on the right into the Domleschg and Val Schons, is fantastic and overwhelming.

Very good inn with great food and a wonderful view of the waterfalls in the Safiental. Also good rooms for overnight stays.

The refuge, dedicated to the "poet of Valchiavenna" Giovanni Bertacchi, stands in a panoramic position next to Lake Emet, in the Upper Val San Giacomo, at an altitude of 2,175 metres. An ideal destination for family outings thanks to its privileged and easily accessible position, it is open from mid-June to the end of September (and only on weekends in October). An excellent place to take a regenerating break while enjoying the best dishes of the local tradition. It is also equipped with 24 beds.

Rest area with a great panoramic view

While the ascent from the Safiental leads through steeper terrain, the slopes towards Tschappina are comparatively gentle. The view to the south is dominated by the impressive face of the Piz Beverin.
