Firewood is always available for grilling, the forester's lodge cat enjoys a few pats or a snack, and donations via Twint or cash are welcome. It's worth spending time there in both summer and winter and is also a good starting point/parking spot for hikes.

The Oberstolehüttli is a spacious picnic area at an altitude of 1,287 meters with a wonderful view over the Entlebuch and the Napf region. It is open all year round, offers shelter in bad weather and is equipped with fire pits, drinking water, toilets and plenty of seating. A flag hoisted indicates whether someone is there; reservations are not possible.
