A striking crossing point with a great view. From here you can walk the ridge to the Walmendingerhorn, descend to the Schwarzwasserhütte, climb to the Grünhorn or descend to Baad via the Starzel-Alpe on the Starzelweg.

Here we came to the end of our walk around the Widderstein (from the Hochtannbergpass car park) and saw a marmot at dusk and heard many others calling. 😍 The views of the surrounding peaks are also magnificent.

The great panoramic mountain can be reached from Schoppenau to Vorderüntschenalpe either on foot or by mountain bike (very steep road).

We didn't do it because it was raining.

The ascent to the Widdeersteinhütte via the Hochalp Pass is much more comfortable than the direct route from the Hotel Adler - especially when the sun is shining!
