The cabin is locked up but there's a tap set up nearby that feeds from a mountain spring. The water was great. Very useful if you're making a round trip around the lake, as the nearest spots to get fresh water are either the Forelle, or Heiterwang in the other direction.

The trail on the south bank of the Plansee has been closed to bikers in both directions for a few years and is signposted accordingly. Is reserved exclusively for hikers. Unfortunately, everything also applies to the trails on the north side above the lake.
