The historical boundary stone, which is designated as a monument, is in the Hasenburger Bachtal nature reserve (NSG LÜ 281). The upper part shows the Lüneburg city mark on both sides of the stone as well as three years on the view side from the southwest and two years on the view side from the northwest, which refer to border inspections carried out in these years. It is very likely that the Embser church was built in 1280 by the castle man Manecke v. Estorff and his wife Adelheid v. Bülow founded. According to an entry in the stock register from 1868, the couple's son is said to have died in Italy. For the salvation of his soul, the church was founded in honor of St. Catherine. Unfortunately, we no longer have a foundation deed because the church was broken into in the immediate aftermath of the Reformation and the old deeds were stolen from the coffin. Only one coat of arms window with the coat of arms of the family v. Estorff, which was removed when the church was rebuilt in 1852, also showed the number 1280.
