Terrace with a beautiful view of the castle and the Lahn river

The Kurt-van-der-Burg Bridge connects Dietkirchen with the opposite bank of the Lahn River and is an important crossing for pedestrians and cyclists. It offers a beautiful view of the Basilica of St. Lubentius, which sits majestically on the rock above the Lahn.

This path is one of the most beautiful in Germany – all the way down to Elz.

It's just a pity that you're not allowed to swim in it.

The ascent through the four-story tower, the only completely preserved structure of the former city wall dating from 1385, at the end of which a wonderful view awaits visitors, leads to further sights: Directly after passing through the Otto Schöfer Hall to the tower, on the first floor to the left, is a cooper's workshop, where tools and products of this craft are on display. Runkel is a highlight for any bike tour. The beautiful old bridge over the Lahn River, Runkel Castle, the Lahn Island, and, from what I hear, one of the best ice cream parlors in the area, right below the castle. All right here in this one spot.
