The Hohe Warte with its weather vane was created in 2003 by many volunteers. Now, after 20 years, the red and white weather vane should be given some color again.

A great view over Pottenstein and the surrounding area reward the ascent.

At the Festival of Lights you have a great view of the whole fire.

The highlight of the Streitburg is the well-preserved dungeon. The views of Steitberg are also fantastic, a worthwhile excursion and hiking destination.

The curious goats to the right and left of the path reinforce the impression of an almost alpine meadow landscape with many colorful flowers. The view is magnificent!

Lookout point opposite Pottenstein Castle, beautiful view on all sides

The history of Pottenstein can be traced back to the first documented mention in 918. Pottenstein Castle was built around 1060 by Count Boto von Pottenstein (1028–1104; Aribone). In 1323 the place received city rights. The city of Pottenstein was the upper bailiff of the Bamberg monastery. In a town fire in 1736, 60 houses were destroyed and the town church was damaged. Since the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss of 1803 the place belongs to Bavaria. In the course of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria, the municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818. Source Wikipedia
