New construction of the B 212 As part of the re-routing of the B 212, a new bridge was built between 2010 and 2015, east of the existing lift bridge, over the Hunte River. It is a bascule bridge and has been in operation since December 10, 2015. The old lift bridge was dismantled at the end of August 2018. A possible subsequent use was not feasible. At the beginning of 2011, the then mayor of Elsfleth, Diedrich Möhring, proposed rebuilding the bridge on the Elsfleth campus of Jade University. There, it would have crossed the Liene Canal and connected a planned campus expansion to it.

At some points along this path, you can enjoy a small view of the Weser. However, this view is often blocked by buildings.

An impressive structure worth a closer look. If you're patient or lucky and the bridge is open, you'll reach Elsflether Sand...a wonderful place for a hike or bike ride.

From here you have a beautiful view of the Hunte.
