The Heinrichshöhle is a mysterious, thousand-year-old dark realm decorated with stalactites. A part of this cave, of which 3.2 km has been explored so far, can be visited with guided tours. The cave is famous because of the thousands of bones of Ice Age animals that have been found, e.g. cave bears, mammoths, giant deer, cave hyenas, etc. Fantastically sparkling stalactites and sinter formations that are up to 230,000 years old line the paths. Highly recommended!

The Heinrichshöhle is located on a fenced-off area that, unlike Komoot, is not accessible from the north. From the northwest, the hiking trails are very narrow, there are fallen tree trunks with little possibility around them or over them (three branches on top of each other) and the trails are steep and unpaved. Those who want to visit the cave should take the southern path. Please note the opening times: Until the end of October 2020 the cave is only open on weekends (and also on Wednesdays during the autumn holidays) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
