Glückstadt is highly recommended for a short break. There are fantastic hiking and cycling opportunities here. The town itself is beautiful and offers many attractions. The harbor area boasts a lively nightlife scene with a great view of the waterfront.

A beautiful cycle route along the dike with partial views of the Elbe River. Many sheep graze nearby, so ride with caution; they usually don't budge. There's a snack bar along the route, a children's playground, and access to the beach and the Elbe. The Elbe crossing is also visible from the shore. This tour is highly recommended.

Kollmar Harbor There are many different snack bars here – Strandfloh, Küstenkrabbe, and Strandoase – offering a wide variety of food and drinks. There's a playground for the little ones. Plenty of seating. This place/square is a great place to linger. There's also a parking lot.
