The Wasserburg Haus Graven in the Wiescheid district of Langenfeld is always worth a photo, I've photographed it umpteen times.

Beautiful little medieval town, located directly on the Rhine. Also very easy to reach by bike.

The Krötschenturm is located in the northwest and is part of the Zons city wall. It was used as a fortification, watchtower, prison, dungeon, storehouse or warehouse. Apparently, during the plague waves in Zons, people who were suffering from the plague lived in the tower to keep them away from the rest of the population. This was to prevent further infections. The tower probably got its name from this difficult past. "Krötsch" means sickly.
