Very beautiful bridge over the Elzbach in Monreal. The bridge is the middle of three historic stone bridges in the town. On the bridge is the impressive sight from the 15th century, the Lion Monument. The four lions carved in basalt are among the most important monuments of their kind in the Rhineland due to their uniqueness. On the other side of the bridge is the statue of John of Nepomuk, who also gave the bridge its name "John's Bridge". Beautiful!

Very nice tour of the lake with a view of the lake. The monastery is worth seeing and impressive.

When you cross the Trass caves, you go through a historical disaster area, it is about the eruptions of the Laacher See volcano, which erupted around 13,000 years ago.

The Laacher See, fascinating caldera lake. It bubbles, bubbles and smells. Very exciting. A nice walk around it and the monastery with its fine craftsmanship. Definitely worth the trip.

Along the Laacher See, a detour to the shore is worthwhile, here there are great views of and over the lake and in some places clearly visible CO2 gas rises from the depths and forms countless bubbles, the so-called mofettes. A special highlight of active volcanism - extraordinary and very impressive.
