The building has an interesting history: - Built in 1869 for the Prussian Army. Until 1896, it served as the first barracks in the province of Hanover. - Subsequently, it housed a vocational school for ten years. - In 1907, the mail-order company August Stukenbrok acquired the building and converted it into an office. - Later, the building became part of the Heidemann Works, which produced bicycles and auto parts. - Since 1997, it has served as the New Town Hall of Einbeck.
