The Ramsau Cemetery, which also includes the Bergfriedhof Cemetery, houses the graves of long-established civic families as well as well-known personalities, particularly those associated with mountaineering.

Insider tips in Berchtesgaden include the Almbach Gorge, the Marktschellenberg Ice Cave, the Maria Gern pilgrimage church, and the Rothbach Falls. A ride on the Jennerbahn cable car for panoramic views is also recommended, as is a hike through the Klausbach Valley with its suspension bridge or a tour to the Rotspielscheibe. Local experiences like the Grassl mountain distillery with gentian tasting or cozy mountain huts like the Kührointhütte are also worth a visit.

Königssee is a mountain lake located largely within Berchtesgaden National Park. Nestled between the steep slopes of the Watzmann and Hagen Mountains, this elongated lake, along with the smaller Obersee lake to the southeast—around which the Steinernes Meer forms the valley's edge—has a fjord-like character. From the Königssee parking lot, a path leads past picturesque boathouses into the national park. Past the former Café Malerwinkl, the walk leads to the so-called Malerwinkel (Painter's Corner). This hike is also very popular as a winter walk, as the path to Malerwinkl is cleared and gritted during these times.

The Saalach River is omnipresent on the Tauern Cycle Path. Sometimes you only hear it, and other times you have long, unobstructed views. In some places, it rushes over piled-up stones like small cascades. In other words, it never gets boring.
