The Gotzenalm is not only a popular destination for hikers; mountain bikers also struggle up to the alpine pasture at an altitude of around 1,685 meters. For overnight guests, hut owner Rudi Klecker and his team offer around 100 beds.

Königssee is a mountain lake located largely within Berchtesgaden National Park. Nestled between the steep slopes of the Watzmann and Hagen Mountains, this elongated lake, along with the smaller Obersee lake to the southeast—around which the Steinernes Meer forms the valley's edge—has a fjord-like character. From the Königssee parking lot, a path leads past picturesque boathouses into the national park. Past the former Café Malerwinkl, the walk leads to the so-called Malerwinkel (Painter's Corner). This hike is also very popular as a winter walk, as the path to Malerwinkl is cleared and gritted during these times.

A beautiful stretch of trail through meadows and forests. For me, it's most beautiful when the grass has been freshly cut and smells so lovely. When it's also nice and fresh and the sun is rising, it's simply magical.
