"The basalt cinder volcano Krufter Ofen is located south of Lake Laach. Its steep eastern flank drops to an oval, kettle-like depression. This depression drains into the Neuwied Basin through the so-called Halsgraben. On the east side of this depression, which is also called a "depression" in geomorphological terms, are the cinder volcanoes Heidekopf and Roter Berg. You leave the village of Entringen and reach this hill via a narrow, steep path. From here you have a beautiful and very extensive view.

On the relaxation lounger you can look down over the steep meadow and across to the Hochsimmer. A nice break!

The gooseneck tower itself is a beauty. But the ascent through the narrow, unspectacular spiral staircase is worth it: the view from the top is phenomenal! Up to the Hohe Acht on one side and far beyond the Laacher See on the other side.
