On the southeastern outskirts of Dausenau is the so-called Leaning Tower. It is part of the medieval city wall at the exit toward Nassau. After the town was granted city rights in 1348, the construction of a fortification was probably completed in 1359. Originally, the hexagonal tower, made of rubble masonry, was about 25 meters high.

The Guinness Book of Records rejected an entry as the world's most leaning tower on the grounds that it is a ruin. The reason for the leaning is the loss of the city wall as an abutment and the construction of the through road. On the slope side, the tower stands on rocky ground, but towards the Lahn on clay ground, which was moistened by the damming of the Lahn in 1926. The bridge was named after the Lahnstein politician Rudi Geil. The bridge connects the two districts of Niederlahnstein and Oberlahnstein. Today's bridge dates from 1997, the first bridge was built over the Lahn in 1873.

Birthplace of the Hunsrück robber Johannes Bückler called “Schinderhannes”. Born probably in the fall of 1779, probably here in this little house directly on the Mühlbach in Miehlen im Taunus (not definitely documented), executed on the guillotine on November 21, 1803 in Mainz, together with 19 of his cronies. The Schinderhanneshaus is now used as a community library, which keeps several books about the life of the robber captain.
