Very beautiful lake, lots of nature, lots of water sports, nice city center in Essen Werder. Great restaurants and beer garden right on the lake. Around the lake about 20km

The Baldeneysee is the recreational address for the city of Essen and the surrounding area. You are in a jiffy in a beautiful landscape. From water sports to hiking and cycling, there is something for everyone here.

The only Ruhr ferry. There is no fare, just a donation box. You can even use PayPal. Is a great project. So don't be stingy.

It's simply wonderful there. The water levels are beautiful to look at and the sound is incredibly calming. It's also a bit cooler there than in the surrounding area because of the spray.
