A short detour is well worth it – the Piske observation tower offers a magnificent panoramic view over the wild and romantic Vils Valley. Knadlarn surprises visitors with the Mühlenhof, an open four-sided farmstead right on the Wolfach river. Nestled between cattle grazing in the summer pasture and the terra et ars gallery with its Buddha statues, it's a special stop – ideal for pausing briefly and enjoying the blend of nature and culture.

Aidenbach is known for the Peasants' War of 1706, the last stand of rebelling Bavarian peasants against the Habsburg imperial occupation. Today, the small town is a worthwhile stop for some memorable photos of the market square and a visit to one of its restaurants. www.aidenbach.de

A scenic route that is easy to manage.

The present parish church was built in 1900, after the previous church was closed in 1898 due to dilapidation and – with the exception of the tower – demolished.

Although the "Schuelmaister" (schoolmaster) is mentioned in the church accounts as early as 1589, when he was given new clothing, it wasn't until the end of the 18th century that a school was firmly established in the village. The building in the center of Beutelsbach, which previously housed the town hall and kindergarten, was around 150 years old. Groundbreaking for the new town hall and kindergarten took place in autumn 2018. The new building was completed in early 2020, and the old town hall and kindergarten were demolished. The new multi-purpose building contains offices, a council chamber, and other versatile spaces. The kindergarten, with its capacity for 40 children, is also integrated into the new building – featuring large, welcoming group rooms – and the outdoor area has been redesigned.
