Unfortunately, I couldn't admire the waterfall due to the persistent drought. But the gorge is just a force even without it. Absolute peace and a beautiful forest pure relaxation. There could be a few more seats to relax. And the tour is described as easy, it is also for the experienced hiker, but please think of sturdy shoes. Have fun hiking

The gorge was unfortunately dry, but the tranquility, the beech trees with their fresh green leaves, and the birdsong made up for it. We walked it from bottom to top. It was challenging at times, but I think the views of the gorge are better this way than if you walked from top to bottom.

Definitely a nice highlight. When you sit on the bench in front of the grotto, hear the splashing of the falling water and see the brook flowing next to you, you feel like you are in a place from a fairy tale.

First the cave was still signposted, then unfortunately not anymore. Thanks to Komoot we found them, at least we think so 😉. Without help you might just walk by😕.

Stage 9: Mühlkopf - refuge with Wartburg view Seating group and shelter invite you to linger. The educational trail ends here with a view of the Wartburg. Via the Rennsteig back to the Rangenwiese, this turns into a circular hiking trail. It is easy to find the way back to Stedtfeld in a beautiful landscape.

Stage 8: Earth shaft – ore mining We find the earth shaft, also called ore shaft, 100 m further on the slope. An entrance was built for visitors. The work and techniques of the miners from 500 years ago can still be reproduced in the tunnel. There is the extraction of ore nests with mallets and irons, from ridge mining, in which the ore veins and nests were mined from the bottom of the tunnel to the ridge, the traverses for the scaffolding can still be seen. The tunnel system as a whole indicates ridge mining. A special object is the stair shaft: here you can see the ramming mining. The ore was mined from top to bottom in a staircase and carried upwards in baskets. It is the only remaining stairwell in a wide area and is therefore particularly worthy of protection.
